I really like them, but only for girls. I feel that using a unisex name for a girl can fit one with a tomboy personality or a girly girl personality. They're cute.
My daughters are 18, 6 %26amp; 3 and are named Taylor, Jordan %26amp; Peyton.
What is your opinion on unisex names? Would you/have you use(d) them?
I don't like it. It's not something that I'd do. I hate it when there are both boys and girls in the same class named Riley, Taylor, and the like. It's not something I'm a fan of.
Reply:I think it's ok for girls. But personally i dont like them. The only unisex name i can think of now, that i like is Alex. Mostly for a nickname though . . .
Reply:I love unisex names. They are my favorite type of names. Some I've considered:
Aslan
Avery/Averi
Charlie/Charli
Darcy
Eliott
Emerson
Emry/Emri
Jackson/Jaxin
Jesse/Jessi
Murphy
Parker
Romy
Hope I helped. =]

Reply:I'm naming my daughter Milo Abigail.
I think some of them are too hard for girls e.g. Blake but then again people may say the same about Milo. To me it just sounds pretty and graceful Mi...lo... as opposed to Miles which sounds more masculine.
I prefer them only for girls though, even though Kelly and Kim are also boys names I wouldn't name a boy either. Too girly.
Reply:I hate them.
I do not like having to look at the person instead of realizing with the name.
My name is Jamie, and I hate when I hear a boy have that name. I feel its a girl name because I have it, then see males with it.
Though Jamie is the feminine form of James. (don't ask me)
Reply:I have a unisex name, Kelly, but it is mostly used for girls as in my case. Apparently I named both of my daughters unisex names, Paige and Mackenzie, but I don't really think of Paige as a boys name(lol).
Reply:I think using them for girls is really nice. I have a friend named Jordan. My horse-riding instructors name is Toni. etc.
So yea, I think they're awesome.
Reply:I love them, but mostly for girls. You know how theres a thing how girls can act like girls or boys and there's nothing wrong with it, but when a boy starts to act like a girl it's totally taboo. I sort of apply that to names too.
Reply:My daughters name is Taylor which is a unisex name ... I think I have to agree with for girls it's okay but for boys it just seems awkward.
Reply:I love them...some are better for girls IMO and some are better for boys IMO and some work equally well for both..
one of my kids has a unisex name Devin Michele (she is 19)..the other Jacalyn goes by Calyn (kay lin..she is 23) which is sometimes incorrectly used for boys (Caelan is supposed to be pronounce Kee lin not Kay lin..but shhhhh don't tell the mama's of boys using the kaylin pronounciation that!)
I love Micah, Noah, Jordan, Peyton, Reese, Spencer, Aidan and Dylan for both sexes...oh and Tristian (which is my grandsons name but both my dh and I like better (or did before he was born) for girls)
Reply:No. I want the person looking at my name on a list to instantly know that this person is a female. I wouldn't want any less for my children. You can give them a clearly sex-based middle name, but that may or may not make your sex clear.

Reply:i like them. my brother's name is taylor.. for certain ones i get confused but i like alot of them.
Reply:i like Hayden and Riley, im not going to use them though. i much prefer very girly names or very masculine names.
Reply:I think they are cute. I have a friend that used unisex names for all of her kids. She had 3 girls and their names are:
Alex
Charleigh
Hayden
I also think that they are cute on boys too. I know boys named:
Kelly
Stacey
Torey
Shelby
Reply:I on't know, cose children in school can be cruel and if a girl has a boy;s name or a boy has a girl's name (unisex names) kids can make fun of them, so I wouldn't choose an unisex name, but you are the mommy and it is your opinion and whatever you choose should be accepted and respected by everyone!

Reply:Two of my kids' names are unisex...
Peyton
Carsyn....they are both girls, by the way!
Reply:Never, ever in a million years would I use a unisex name on my child. That's what is wrong with our society today. The sexes have become one big blurr.
Reply:I think it depends on the name and on the parents and child. Don't get me wrong it is totally your choice but I think for some peope they are really good and others not so good.
Reply:I think they're cute for girls. I wouldn't name my son Christina or Ashley or anything like that.
Reply:I hate unisex names. Why not let a girl have a nice feminine name?
Reply:My sister's name is Korey and my cousin's name is Rowan. I almost named one of my daughters Kailyn, which is a unisex name. These names strike me as girl's names, but they are used as boys names too. I do like unisex names, even on a boy. I had a friend growing up that was a guy and his name was Madison, we called him Maddy. I definitely use a unisex name for one of my children.
My daughter's names are
Lucy Nicole
Addison Marie
Sarah Lynne
Reply:It seems ironic reading the answers most people give that they would ONLY use UNISEX names on girls. By definition doesn't unisex mean that it shouldn't matter?
