Who likes Unisex names? And why?

Which ones do you like?

Who likes Unisex names? And why?
I don't.

As a female with both given names being unisex can have problems. As a kid I could'nt go to some friends slumber parties cause parents thought I was a boy,I even got sent to the school nurse with the boys! I used to hate my name.

My mother said she would have given me my name had I been born male or female. (and I have an older brother!)

I still find it amusing when I go to job interviews an someone has altered the spelling and I get 'I thought you were a guy'. Once an accountant lodged my tax return and had decided to spell my name the masculine way, much to my annoyance.

Although I now love my name and laugh off any comments or issues caused by a unisex name, I believe its easier for females to live with but to be a guy and have a name that could be considered 'femine' would be tougher.

When I had a son last year, I gave him a strong masculine name.
Reply:My first name is Peta and although it's a common name, where I grew up it wasn't a popular girls name. People just assumed the spelling was wrong and sometimes changed it. Family and friends called me Pete. And Chike is just a spelling twist for cheeky. Thanx for asking,

Reply:I Don't Like Them. But i do think they become useful in times.
Reply:i can't stand them!!!!!! I like being able to say a name and know if it's refering to a male or female.
Reply:I am fairly unisex name neutral. If I like a name I like it.
Reply:I do. My little boys name is Jordan and i like Jordyn for a girl aswell.

I also like Taylor/Taylah

and Jayden/Jaedyn

There are probably heaps i like i just cant really think of right now. Im not too sure why i like them, i just think they sound nice especially girls with the unisex names.
Reply:I like Unisex names, Jo and Joe are trendy, Sam and Sam are good, Pat and Pat are good, Ros and Ros are also good.

But I like names for twins like Leone and Leon, Georgina and George, etc.
Reply:I like unisex names. Particualy is you don't know if you are having a boy or girl and want to select just one name that can be used for either. I really like the name "Ainsley" - it is Galic and means "ones own meadow".
Reply:It's better to name a child after someone in the family line. It shows respect and keeps the lineage going as well. Using "generic" names just doesn't quite cut it.
Reply:My daughters name is Jordan, it's not terribly common for boys or girls but not "out there" either.
Reply:i do..but i like unisex names for girls . i like....Danielle(Dani). Andy.

Alex, Joey.Bobbie,Billie to name a few but i like these names for a girl not a boy.
