unisex is like a name that can be for a boy and also a girl.


what are some good names i can name my daughter that is also a guy name?


i just want to give her a more strong masculine name. after all, shawn johnson, for example, is quite girly, but with a boy name. i think its soo cute if a girl has a guy name!

Reply:My parents gave me a unisex-but-more-on-the-male-side name. I'm 26. It has been a huge hassle for all 26 years. I have to explain my parents' decision several times a week. It's no fun :(. It is also an issue at work...I don't exactly make a good impression when I have to correct people who write me as "Mr."





Now, my parents thought they were being smart when they gave me a very feminine middle name, reasoning I could always go by my middle name instead. Nice idea, but it's not that easy. YOU try totally switching names! Not going to happen.





So, as someone who has been there, consider a name that doesn't scream "girly girl" like Isabella or Samantha...but certainly go with a name that identifies the gender. How about Claire? Paige? Lots of un-girly female names out there!
Reply:Ok, first of all, a girl with a guy name is not cute. It is ugly, and if you can only use "cute" to describe a name, it isn't good. Cute will fit her when she is 3, but not 30. Here are some more female-inclined Unisex names that aren't "cute", but pretty.
