People Just Don't Understand Unisex Names..?

Say I asked a question consisting of names like:

Riley

Kasey

Peyton

Alot of people that answer would be, "that name is for a boy blah blah BULLS***!!"

People just don't understand that those are unisex names, and sound perfect on both genders.

Does anyone else feel like this? %26gt;_%26lt;

People Just Don't Understand Unisex Names..?
Actually, some just don't sound like girls names. Riley is ok, but when you get to Ryan, its time to take a reality check.
Reply:I agree, I think a lot of people don't get how some names can be unisex. I think people usually reference a name to someone they know. Like if they know a guy named Riley, they'll probably think Riley is a guy's name even though it would be cute on a little girl. I do believe some unisex names have been turned into more female or male names only because there are more girls or more boys named the name, but, all the names you listed above would be cute on either sex. I do think the name Peyton (spelled that way) is more feminine and I think Payton (spelled that way) is more masculine. I really LOVE the name Peyton for a girl, it's on my future baby name list. :0)
Reply:There's a difference between names that are unisex and names that are gender bound. Riley and Peyton are both masculine, therefore making them boy names. Unfortunately, people have started using them on little girls.

Madison, Addison, Emerson, and Ryan although used on girls, are also not unisex. Madison means "SON of Maude". Addison means "SON of Adam". Emerson means "SON of Emery". And Ryan means "Little KING". All masculine not only in sound but meaning.

You wouldn't name your son Wynnona, which means "Eldest daughter", would you?
Reply:I think Riley and Kasey are actually too girly to be boys names. That is why we named my brother Rylan, cause Riley is too girly. I think Peyton is a unisex name, but people have their own opinions, and if someone suggested Riley or Kasey (not Reilly or Casey) I would say not to name a boy that. I agree with you, just some names aren't unisex.
Reply:My question is with everyone being so different and not like you. Why do you get so upset when complete strangers on here do not agree with you? I mean it is are god given right to agree or disagree. Its the rude ones i can not stand. So honestly stop caring what they think and do what you want.

Now to answer your question. To me Kacey is the female version and Casey is the male version. Peyton a boys name. Riley ether or. But when i meet people named Kelly. It weirds me out to find a man named Kelly. My name is Kellie. So to me Kellie is a girls name and does not sound very good on a male. But like i said that is my opinion and no one has to like it. People can thumb me down. But its still my opinion at the end of the day!
Reply:i personally like them for both genders.

i believe most unisex names are adorable for both genders.

for example dylan and logan i know girls who have those names and i know peytons both genders and kasey both and riley both.

so its pretty much your opinion

:]
Reply:Certain names can be unisex but people might prefer them on a certain gender.

I named my son Riley because it was orginally a boys name that has now become unisex. I prefer it for a boy though.

My name is Jamie and its unisex but it mostly used for girls.
Reply:i plan to name my little boy Riley and i know someone else who is to. and people always say its a girl name. and Alexis for a girl i like and people say it is a boy name but i dont no any boys named Alexis and the same with Madison.

yes so i feel the same as you.
Reply:No, I don't. While technically surname names are unisex, I only like them on boys, as most are very masculine.
Reply:Yes, I love Andy for a boy and girl.

I know a Sam who's a boy and one who's a girl.
Reply:I completely agree w/ you! My daughter's name is Camren %26amp; people always call her a boy when their reading the name.
Reply:Yeah, Jamie is also one . :) ♥
