What does unisex mean? Or unisex names? examples?

A unisex name is one that would be equally at home on a boy or a girl -- a good way to look at it is to think of a name which wouldn't immediately tell you the gender of the bearer. For example, if you see the name Elizabeth written down on paper, you immediately know it's a female. To the contrary, the name Morgan isn't immediately distinguishable as a male or a female -- it's unisex.

These are some good examples of unisex names:

Reagan

Casey

Avery

Blair

Cameron

Hayden

Did you know that many popular girls' names originally started out as boys' names? A few well known examples of this are Ashley, Evelyn, Carol, Beverly, Meredith, Hilary, and even Vivian! Funny, huh?

What does unisex mean? Or unisex names? examples?
Unisex means both sexes

An hairdresser could be unisex or a Berber could be just for men

Unisex names

Jordan - I know just as many boys as girls with that name, I do not think of one sex when I see the name

Cameron/Kamyrn; Casey/Kacie; Reese/Reece: These names are both for boys and girls, but have different spelling for each sex

Then you have names like

Tyler, Ryan that are unisex names, but way to common for a boy to name a girl

Avery, Ashley, Lesley, Riley and Taylor; they are unisex names, but way to common of a girl name to name a boy

Then you have boys names like Logan, Emerson and Dylan and Michael that people name there girls, that are not unisex names
Reply:A unisex name means a name for either boy or girl.

Examples: Leslie is a common one, but others would be under the linked list. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unisex_name My grandfather has a male cousin whose middle name is Leslie (and called by it) while I have a female cousin whose middle name is also Leslie.
Reply:unisex means that it could be used for boys and girls. For example, Morgan would be a unisex name b/c I have a female friend who is Morgan, and I know boys with the same name. In short, it could be used by both genders.
Reply:It means a name that can be given to either a boy or a girl.

e.g. Alex, Jamie

It also doesn't help when your two best friends have unisex names and people don't know if you are talking about the girl or the boy!
Reply:Unisex means that it can be either gender. Examples: Cameron, Ashley, Bobbie, Claude, Cory, and Kerry.
Reply:I don't know what all the other answers mean, but unisex refers to a name that can be used by either gender. Eg. "Jordan" can be a girl's name or a boy's name.
Reply:unisex names mean that the name is suitable for boy sexes; not distinguishing between male and female

Examples:

Tony

Drew

Dylan

Taylor

Sammy

Ashley
Reply:It means it can be used for both a boy and a girl.
