Is there anything wrong with unisex names?

Almost everyone on here finds something wrong with unisex names. We are having our third daughter in May and already have a name picked out for her. We were thinking of naming her Rylie. (or Riley, we are still deciding on spelling)

Our other daughter's names are the same way.

Charley and Peyton.

Is there anything wrong with naming your daughter something that could be a "boy's name." We can't imagine having our daughter's be named anything different than Charley and Peyton.

And what do you think about the spelling Rylie? Good or should it be changed to the classier spelling? We are just looking for opinions. ;)

Charley, Peyton, and Rylie... wdyt?

Thanks everyone!

Is there anything wrong with unisex names?
There's a difference between unisex names and boys names that are given to girls because the parents think it's cute and original. Unisex names are OK, but naming your daughter Ryan or Aidan is ridiculous. I personally wouldn't give my daughter a name that could lead some people to mistake her for a boy.

I would go with the Riley spelling myself. It looks the cleanest and is the spelling most people are familiar with. It'll be a pain for your daughter to always have to correct people on how to spell her name.
Reply:I don't think there's anything wrong with it. My name is usually a boy's name but no ones ever had a problem with it. I think Rylie is a very cute name for a girl.
Reply:I like the spelling of Riley but whatever you think. I have other unisex names like

Tyler

Taylor

Jamie

Jordan

Dylan
Reply:theres nothing wrong with unisex names. i like the name Rylie. especially if its spelled with an 'ie' intead of an 'y'. i also like the name Skyler as a unisex name, and there are different ways to spell it : Skyler, Skylar, and Schuyler (although the people i know with the name 'Schuyler' are girls).
Reply:I think they are all cute names and just fine for little girls! I like the spelling Rylie. Good luck!
Reply:I don't think there's anything wrong with unisex names, but I ever used one I would DEFINETLY give my daugther a feminine middle name. I have a friend named Riley and I've never thought of it as a unisex name. My favourite spelling of it is Rylee.
Reply:I like Riley for a girls name. Unisex names are fine as long as your treat them and dress them like their sex. I worked at a day care and a little girl was named charlie (with the boy spelling) and she was always dressed in boys clothes and sneakers. She also had a boy jacket and hat (it was when I lived up north). Anyway, it seemed like the parents wanted her to be a boy.
Reply:awe cute i love those names.

I actually like Riley better but whatev i love that name so spell it how you want to.

Its not a boys name its so much better than those made up names people come up with nowa days.

good lluck
Reply:My daughter has a unisex name...that's why they are called unisex..they are great for either gender : )
Reply:I like Riley!
Reply:I personally don't like unisex names. I always feel bad for the kid, since they could possibly have another child of the opposite sex with the same name in their class. Or in bigger schools, several kids with the same name. The only Riley's and Charlie's I know in real life are boys. The only Peyton's I know are girls.
Reply:Okay, I like the name Rylie, but for spelling I like Riley a little better. But also Rylie is more modern. The other spelling of Riley is nice but more traditional.

I also like names that fit both boys and girls. My daughter's best friends name is Drew and I like it very much.My kids names are Brooke Nicole and Caleigh Anne. I'm having a boy and I plan on naming him Chase Jared, I don't know about the middle name but. Charley, Peyton, and Rylie sounds very good.
Reply:I'm not a fan of unisex names.

This is partially because it seems like a lot of good male names get used by a few girls and suddenly they're ONLY used for girls. Aubrey is one example. As is Riley. Another that is slowly becoming female is Rowan. I've seen people refer to Evan (one of my favorite boy's names) and Logan as "unisex" as well.

The reason I don't like these names becoming solely female names is there are already a lot fewer unusual names to choose from for boys. There is absolutely no need to make male names into female names when there is a bigger pool of girl names out there.
Reply:I love the name Rylie..I like it spelled this way...

Congratulations!!
