Are names in India unisex?

I'm in customer service and I have quite a few Indian customers. I've noticed that the names often are the same for both males and females (Amarjit, Balwant, etc). I know some American names are universal for both sexes, and a lot of the times latin-based names have a feminine or male context, but are Indian names unisex, or is there something that differentiates male and female?

Are names in India unisex?
