Is it for boys?
For girls?
Or both?
What does the name Momiji mean and is it a unisex name?
Momiji is Japanese and means "Japanese maple tree". It is traditionally a girl's name, but it is used for boys too. If you are familiar with the anime series Fruits Basket, there is a character named that. And that Momiji is a boy. It's kind of cute, but if you aren't Japanese (or any other kind of Asian) or if it doesn't have any special significance to you, I would stay away from it.
Reply:Momiji is Japanese for "maple". I can't find it in any of my name books or on any websites, so I can't tell you what gender it is.
By the way, if you're getting it from Fruits Basket his sister's name, Momo, mean "peach".
Reply:Its a girls name, but these days you can really name a child a name of any gender and it seems to work, especially one as unheard of as that.
Good luck!
Reply:hooray for naming children after maple trees.
its for girls.
hooray.
Reply:First of all, it's the name of a japanese maple tree.
So why woul you name a child regardless wether a girl or boy after a tree.

Reply:Momiji means "autumn leaves" in Japanese.
Momiji Sohma in Japanese anime is a boy, but it also refers to a brand of japanese doll, which are all female. So unisex I would go for.
Reply:I think its a lovely mean, aparantly its a japanese maple tree and I would say it is a Female name. It sounds too feminine to be male.
