Isit just me or does it seem like all of the boys names are unisex now?

A lot of masculine boys names are being used on little girls now.

Dylan

Tyler

James

...etc

(Note: I'm not telling people what they should or shouldn't name their kids, I'm just asking peoples thoughts on boys names becoming unisex.)

Thanks! :o)

Isit just me or does it seem like all of the boys names are unisex now?
I hate it when people give their little girls names that are obviously boy's names like Dylan, Logan, and Blake. Some name are unisex like Jordan or Hayden and are cute on girls, but others should be left as boys names. I feel bad for the little boy Logans and Dylans out there too, because they will have girls in their class with the same name as them.
Reply:There are some masculine names that make a pretty smooth transition to femininity -- but for me, it very much depends on the name. Some people like Elliot for a girl, but I certainly don't (and my mind doesn't change with the spelling -- I don't think Ellyot is a good option, either!). I do, on the other hand, kind of like Neil for a girl. But I know that I would never choose a name with masculine roots for my daughter, even if -- like Morgan, Courtney, and Ashley -- it had been in feminine territory for several years.
Reply:It's just you. Though I've noticed this too, and I really don't like it, I don't think it seems as if all boys' names are unisex. Besides, when looking at a Tyler or James on an application, one will automatically assume it's a man. Unisex is more a name like Hayden or something- where one cannot tell by only a name which gender the person is.
Reply:I think that a lot of the boy names are becoming girl names to.. Because one thing i have met girls with some boy names..

It is not wrong to but i think that it is kinda wierd to me that people are nameing there girls with boy names.. Come on people if you are having a girl please just try to use a girl name not a boy name..
Reply:I actually like it because it's cute and different. I always go for unique names and i always hated it because my whole family's names are common. And the name has to be spelled kind of feminine. Some of the ones I like are:

Rowan

Dylan

Logan

Charlie (nickname for charlotte)

Averie

Corey

Adrienne
Reply:yeah its wrong.

i make some ecceptions. such as riley.

but c'mon. peple girls should be named emily, kayla, and kaitlyn. not bobby, jomes (which i have herd for a girl) , and johnny.

boys are doing it too. such as shelby, emily [[yeahh i know a 13 yr old named emily thats a boy no lie.]], and alexis...stick with alex!!!!!!
Reply:I think that there are a lot that are unisex which is fine, but some are ridiculous...

i really love the name Ryann Danielle for a girl but things like Kyle [[Yes i know a girl named Kyle]] should just stick as a guy's name and not a girl's name
Reply:.. If 100's of years ago boy's were named Sarah or Kathy %26amp; girls names Jonathan %26amp; Brendon.. it would seem normal to us.. just like lots of things in the world..

I love some boys names for girls... the ones you have mentioned I wouldn't name my daughter.. but I love Riley %26amp; Leighton.
Reply:Definately, but so are the girls. For the first time in 35 years our preschool had to add a box to the registration form to check off if the child was a girl or a boy. (Examples: Avery (girl), Adrian (boy), Ryan (have both boys and a girl), Andreas (boy).
Reply:I think some are ok but i agreee with you there are names which i think shouldnt be unisex (like Dylan!) that are turning out be.

Morgan to me is more feminem but is used commonly on boys to.

Reply:I agree, it's only a matter of time until Isabella will be acceptable for boys!

Ridiculous
Reply:I Agree! I think there are clearly names that are unisex and sound great on both boys and girls but there are some names that just should be left for the boys, like James and definitely Dillon!
Reply:I have never heard of a girl named James. I've heard of Jamie, which is the feminine version of James.
Reply:Yes, and it's annoying. What's left for the little boys in this world?
Reply:tyler and james are boys names! i've never heard of it being used fora girl
