Is JOHNNIE also a UNISEX name?
I'm glad and appreciate the vote

Reply:Johnnie or Johnny or Jonny would all be expansions or extensions of John or Jon (Jonathon).

The female equivalents of John or Jon include but are not limited to:

Jana (Czech, Slovak)

Jane (English)

Janet, Janice, both shortened as "Jan"

Jeanne (French)

Jeanette (French, adopted as an English name)

Joan

Joana (Portuguese, Catalan and Basque)

Joanne

These all can be extended or modified such as Joan or Joanne becoming Joanie (Jo-Nee).

I think Joanie is probably the nearest name which can be considered female relative to the name you originally stated.
Reply:YES...
Reply:no, its not, I just checked babynames.com and its not unisex. Why would you name a girl Johnnie? I have a brother and that's how he spells his name.....ewwwwwwww please don't, your child will be made fun of.....good luck and besides would you call your son JENNIFER?
Reply:I know one girl who's about 14 that's named Johnnie. My little brother's name is Jonathan, so when I have a daughter I plan on naming her Jonleigh, after him. Not necessarily with that spelling, but pronounced John-Lee.
Reply:No

No name is unisex

Johnnie is a nickname for Jonathan which is a boys name.
Reply:Johnnie was popular name for girls in lower classes.

It wouldn't work nowadays how about something like Joan for a girl and John for a boy (which few boys are being named nowadays).
Reply:Yes it is a unisex name. I had a piano tacher at one time by the name of Jonnie, and she was a female.
Reply:It sure could be. I prefer Johnna or Jonna or Johanna personally- these are all feminine forms of John.
Reply:girls called Jhonnie would be few and far between. that's like calling a man Mary.
Reply:Uhm..

Perhaps.

*stares blankly*
Reply:of course :P

Reply:NO what girl have you heard name johnnie i think the femal name is joanne

Reply:No, it is not a unisex name.
