Alexis is supposed to be a unisex name. What would be a good middle name?

If the baby turns out to be a boy? Would Alexis Antonio be a good combination? (Antonio was my late dad's middle name)


If the baby turns out to be a girl, what would be a good middle name? Would Alexis Anne be too weird? (Anne is both my mom's and my middle name).


Daddy-to-be picked out the name Alexis, so I think it's just right I get to pick the middle name.

Alexis Anne is pretty for a girl, and obviously meaningful for you. Nothing weird about it.
Reply:Alexis might have been considered a unisex name in the past but now it is strictly a female name. If you are stuck on that name, I would change it around a little. Maybe name the baby Alex if it's a boy. Alex Antonio or Anthony sounds good. or if you go with Alexander, i'd use the middle name Scott.





For a girl, I like Alexis with the middle names Marie, Leigh, Jessica, Michele, or Faith.





Also, consider the last name and how it sounds all together. My mom told me when I was naming my so, "What would sound good when you're shouting out the back door for them to come in for dinner?" It has to flow. lol

Reply:I'm Hispanic and in my culture Alexis is a boys name and in the American culture Alexis seems to be seen as girls name. I like the name personally. Alexis Antonio sounds like a good strong name for a boy, i give it a thumbs up. I don't know about Anne though its kinda plain to me.

Alexis isnt really a name i associate with a baby, little girl, young woman, middle aged woman or an old woman. I associate that name with skanky and slutty. sorry its gross.

Reply:I like the combo for a boy, but i don't like Anne as a middle name for a girl. sorry buts is just too common. be unique and break the middle name tradition. Go for something like Noelle or Rosaline. Maybe even Kayleigh, Isabella, Katrina, or Emmeline. I like those. good luck and congrats!
