Do you think the name Rene is a unisex name?

Not RENEE since I think that tends to be more feminine. I was thinking of using it as a middle name. It's French %26amp; means *reborn* and I lost my baby so I was thinking of using it for a miscarried baby.

What do you think?

Do you think the name Rene is a unisex name?
It is a unisex name.

It does have feminine overtones.

But it obviously has great meaning for you and your precious baby.

By all means name him Rene if that is what is in your heart.

He is reborn.

It is sad for you that God called him home so soon. But He does know best. Perhaps he was spared from a life of sickness or pain. I don't know if I could have braved the loss of my baby boy, but I know I couldn't if he had come into this world too sick to stay and in pain while he was here.

I hurt for you.

I am proud of you for wanting to give this child a name with meaning when some wouldn't have bothered at all.

God Bless You.
Reply:isnt it pronounced the same way as renee...if it is then it wud still be more feminine
Reply:for anybody i thinks its okay. it is whatever you want to name your child its up to you nobody should say anything bad about it.
Reply:makes sense to me go ahead use it. use whatever you like.
Reply:I'm pretty sure Rene is a girls name, but for a middle name or whatever it's fine. .
Reply:I think Rene is a great unisex name and would suit the purpose it is intended for.

Good luck
Reply:Rene, is a dutch male name...so it is cool as a unisex name
Reply:I think Rene with one "e" at the end is more masculine, whereas the Renee with two "e"s is more feminine- like you mentioned.

Sorry to hear about your baby. If you weren't sure of the sex, and are looking for unisex names, there are others:

Taylor, Ashley (yeah, I used to know a boy Ashley), Leslie, etc.
Reply:Rene for boys - Renee for girls usually although Rene can be short for Irene.

We pronounce Rene as REnay %26amp; Renee as ReNAY. But do as you like its your child! All the best for the future..........
Reply:%26lt;%26gt;I personally know as many male Rene's as female Rene's.
Reply:I think it's a very nice middle name.
Reply:Rene is a unisex name i have an aunt and a male cousin that is named Rene but they both spell it Renee. i think that would make a great middle name for your baby. i am sorry for you lose.
Reply:you are naming a baby that was miscarried? It is a fine middle name for a boy or girl.
Reply:ilike it and it's not too feminine
Reply:I think ot really doenst matter
Reply:Rene is a total chicks name. If you want to name your son Rene then you should try Ren instead, like from ren and stimpy.
Reply:It is a French name. Ren茅 is the masculine form of the name and Ren茅e is the feminine form.

I am sorry for your loss. If giving the pregnancy a name helps you grieve and heal, then you can give it any name you like.
Reply:To me Rene is still feminine depending on the way its pronounced. If its like this ~ Rene (Rin-knee) then that can be masculine, but if its like this ~Renee (Ree-nay) or (Rin-nay) then it can be feminine. Whatever way you prononuce it it will do good, its up to you and your choice.

Sorry for you lost, Best of luck in the future.
Reply:I love the name Rene, and I prefer it for a boy. I think of the surrealist painter Rene Magritte or of the founder of modern philosophy and mathematics, Rene Descartes. I also had a professor in college named Rene, and he was a man. Claim it back for the men!
