Does your child have a unisex name?

Leslie/Lesley goes both ways boy/girl as does Ashley, Tracy,kelley/Kelly/Kellie, Jordan, Quinn, Stevie, Rylie, Taylor, Stacy ect...

And if so do people question you, to why you gave your daughter a (boys) name or your son a (girls) name.

Does your child have a unisex name?
Yes, my daughter is Cameron but middle name is Paige. I never would have named her Cameron if she was a boy though it's a femme boy name, if she was a boy she would have been a Justin. I actually prefer the unisex/boy names for girls. I laughed at the question because her little girlfriends are Riley, Jordan, and a Taylor.
Reply:I kow how to make Stevie much more feminine on paper instead of the ie change it while shes young %26amp; know one will notice to eigh as in Steveigh, only if you want.In my opinion

Daveigh is much nicer than Davina..so dont take importance to what others say. Trust me Stevie is a lovely name.
Reply:tyler is a unisex name 2
Reply:Dont have kids but i do want to name my boy lane and my girl alex i think its cute when they have unisex names
Reply:My sons name is Jessie Kaylen. People think he is a female all the time because of his name. We knew he was going to be a Jessie either way and for his middle name I took my middle name (Kay) and his dad's middle name (Allen) and put them together, but it has made for a very feminine name. He is now 16, almost 17 and he likes his name.
Reply:My second son name is Nicholas, but I call him Nicky for short, and that will probably stick with him for life(by me calling him that anyways) I am sure that he might be called Nick though.

And no everybody that is close to us call him Nicky too for now anyways!!!
Reply:I have a boy's name. My name is Dani like the boy's name Danny AND I'm a girl. This is short for Danielle but if you call me that I will not respond at all . I've been Dani since I was brought home from the hospital so Danielle doesn't even register. When I was young growing up in school, kids and parents were unmerciful picking on me because of my "boy's" name. Of course, I refused to be called anything but Dani. There were 2 other boy Danny's in my class and because our common first and last names, we lined up all right in a row. We later formed our own 3 musketeers after we became really good friends so having the same name isn't a totally bad thing. We have been friends for almost 20 years. And we're still known as the Dannys.

I've never been angry with my parents about my name or the subsequence nickname. Danielle just doesn't fit. I'll probably have Danielle dropped completely when I get married and have to change my last name.
Reply:well my child doesn't have a unisex name, but i do. my name is luka and it goes both ways.
Reply:I've always liked the name Jaden for a boy or a girl. I don't have a child of my own yet but I have suggested the name and a couple of friends have actually used it when naming their child. I thought it to be a pretty cool honor considering I picked the name.
Reply:my name is kim as my parents were not sure of the sex before I was born.
Reply:I've got another Cameron here. It's for my oldest son. We've never been questioned about it but he has questioned it after he was old enough to find out about Cameron Diaz. I also have an Aiden, which I have been seeing more on girls lately. Once I saw it spelled Aydyn for a girl. My last boy is Evan even though we call him Ev-e for short which their Grandmother hates because she says that that is short for Evelyn. If the last one would have been a girl, (which the first two ultrasounds said he was, until he turned over) his name was going to be Rhianne (pronounced RY-anne).
Reply:Not my children, but that's thanks to personal experience -- both my sister and I were given traditionally-masculine/unisex names, and it's always been quite frustrating.

Rather annoying to know your name is an insubstantial reflection of your parents' failed attempt at creativity (my own name is quite popular/trendy as well LOL) and having to constantly deal with the repercussions of that on a daily basis. To use a current example, poor little "Jayden Smith" will constantly be asked to clarify if that's Ms. or Mr., not to mention having to deal with resulting hassles ranging from a minor annoyance (being assigned to the boy's dorm by mistake, and having to either deal with it or fix it LOL) to a possible financial and legal battle (having your child's birth refused medical coverage because obviously a man name Jayden Smith could not have given birth LOL). Definitely poorly thought out, I'm afraid. And the parents choosing such names aren't the ones that have to deal with these issues, so they simply don't get it. My mother still wonders why I dislike my name ... because she still thinks it was "a CUTE name for a little baby girl!" ROFL Yeah, thanks Mom. I'm nearly 30!
Reply:no, but my name is. i'm named after my grandfather
Reply:We have a boy named Stacy. When he was little a girl in the neghiborhood was also named Stacy. All the kids in called him Boy Stacy and her Girl Stacy. Really wasn't a problem for the kids or us.
Reply:Payton and no one has ever questioned me
Reply:My daughters name is Ashlea. When I was pregnant with her (didn;t know the sex) I was adamant that there was no way we were going to call our son or daughter something that could be for both sexes. HAHAHAHAHA in the end we did. It just suits her so much.

The only comments I get on her name is the spelling and why? I wanted to name her in remembrance of my 2 sisters that died as babies. Hollie and Jessica. Those names didn't suit her, but both their middle names are Lea. So I thought that spelling "lea" that way was a nice way to honor them and it looks sweet as well.
Reply:My kids don't but I do.

Growing up I never had a problem with it. There wasn't any Charles or Charli's around at my school apart from me. I loved it.

When I met my partner it was different though. He would always (still does) call me Charles. He would tell his friends, family %26amp; work mates all about this person called Charles. LOL - They all thought he was gay!

Then they met me and everything was all sorted out. He never clicked on why his mother cried every time my name was mentioned or when I met them all they let out a big sigh. LOL!!

I think of Stevie as a girls name. My friend is Stevie. I know a lot of guys that are Steve or Steven, but never called Stevie. Just tell them to but out! I have heard so many more worse names out there!!

xxxxx
Reply:My youngest son is Cameron and we know a few girls with that name, however we have never had anyone approach us or ask us why we gave him a "universal" name. I think its masculine myself.
Reply:I don't know. Do you consider Aaron a unisex name?
Reply:Yes my son is Jaden but he has another boy in his class Jayden and another girl spelled Jaiden. I didn't realize how popular for both girls and boys it would be but it happens.

I think it is cute when girls have unisex names but I don't always think it works out for boys. Hopefully for my son's sake it Jaden will stay more masculine.
Reply:My sons name is Peyton. I just really liked the name and since Peyton Manning has made it big, no one has questioned it :)
Reply:I have twins boys and one of them is named Cameron

I just thought it was a cool name
Reply:i quite fancy unisex name like

daniel - danielle

robin - robyn

billy - billie

nicky - nikki

tony - toni
Reply:Yes. They have. I try not to associate with that type.
Reply:Nope. I want my son to have a manly man name and not a sissy girlie name. My sons' names are Kamdor Ninjor and Liam-James Tyler.
Reply:i dont have a kid, but my name is Corey
Reply:i have a daughter named riley. i picked it because i thought it was a unique, but still trendy name and it means "courage" people dont really think she is a boy. but you do see more boy rileys than girls. oh yea, jamie and casey are also a unisex name.
Reply:My name is Casey. It's kinda hard because if I want to find something with my name on it its always with the boys and in boy colors
Reply:My name is Danielle and I get called Dani all the time, my mom hates it but I don't mind it so much. As for my kids I don't have any yet by my fiance and I have already decided to go with the name Jordan/Jordin.

Jordin Gabriella Danielle for a girl

Jordan Gabriel Daniel for a boy.
