How do you feel about unisex names?

Are there any that are more feminine than masculine?

Personally, I'm not a fan. I like names that are masculine for a boy, and feminine for a girl... I just wondered what everyone else thought.

How do you feel about unisex names?
I'm am a HUGE fan of unisex names. It gives people a sort of edge. My neighbors have a little girl names Ryan, and at first I thought it was a boy name, but as the baby grew the name grew with her. I also have a best guy friend names Ryan, but when I think of each people and their name, "Ryan" is very girly for the girl and "Ryan" is also very masculine. So no matter what you name your child, the name will grow onto them and fit them very well :]
Reply:I only like masculine names for boys, but I go either way for girls. My daughter and I actually both have commonly male names and I am okay with that. But I wouldn't want my son to have a girl's name. Unfortunately, a lot of the traditionally masculine names (Addison, Madison, Reese, Riley, etc) are now more common for girls. My son's name could turn out to be a feminine name after all, even though it wasn't at all when I named him.
Reply:I agree with you i dont like them, you have little boys with names like Kourtney %26amp; Casey, and my friend told me those were unisex names and im like WHAT!! those are feminine names that shouldnt be given to boys. And the other way around for girls too, names like Jordan, people please stop doing this to your kids.
Reply:Dont mind them, i would use Alexis for both boys and girls, and i would also use taylor for both boys and girls and also Parker

However i do know what you mean by the masculine and feminine names, i would never for instance name a boy ashley or lesley or a girl stevie or bobby.

xx
Reply:I used to like them. If I had a daughter 8-10 years ago, she would probably have been called Toni or something similar.

For some reason, as I got older, I started to dislike them. I suppose they're trendy, but I wanted my girls to be girls. I now have Isabella and Holly - both popular names but I like them and they suit my girls.
Reply:I think that it depends on the name like kyle to me is for a boy.Where as city names could go both ways.I think riley sounds good both ways too.But spencer to me is more for boys.Names like addison and madison sound more for females. So really my point is it depends on the name.
Reply:i dont like many unisex names, but some of the names i really like are unisex, but seem more girlie to me.

for example, Addison is one of my favorite names,

along with Peyton, Rowan, and Haley --but i would only use those as girls names.
Reply:Your baby is adorable! :) Edward - what a cutie.

I like girly names. My daughter's are Olivia and Natalie. No gender confusion there!
Reply:At first I used to think that if you are telling someone your baby's name and have to tell them if its a girl or boy...The name shouldnt be used. But now I kinda like it. I still hate it when people take clearly boys name and use them on girls for example..carson or parker.
Reply:I usually don't like boys names for girls and girls names for boys. But some boys names have been used for girls to the point that they could be considered unisex (like Ryan, Dylan and Tristan) and I still like those names.
Reply:I don't like them! I'm with you I like very boyish/manly names for boys and very cute, pretty, feminine girl names. There is no middle with me.

If that is your baby in the picture, OMG it is the most darling thing! Beautiful!
Reply:I do think they are very masculine, and I only like them if they have a girly middle name, and if they go by a girly nickname, like Camryn- called Cami. But I agree with you.

PS. Edward- what a cutie!! congratulations (a little late)
Reply:I personally don't care for them. Especially the ones that are really meant for one sex, but for some strange reason they are quite popular now for the other. Like Addison and Dylan.
Reply:I'm not a fan of unisex names.....but I like Tristan for a boy, I've heard it's a girl name....I do like Riley for a girl though. Some names I like but for the majority no...
Reply:Like 95% of the time I don't like them. There are only 2 I can think of that I like...... Leslie (uncle) for a guy and Morgan (brother) for a guy.
Reply:my name is a unisex name so is my brothers and sisters!!

jordan (girl)

paris (boy)

perri (girl, me)

morgan (boy)

i think they are fine,, much better than boring names like holly or blah!!
Reply:No, I do not like unisex names. I see names like Blake, Tyler, and Evan are now girls' names.
Reply:I agree with you. It's either a boy's name or a girl's name. I don't want people to be asking if my kid's a boy or a girl when I tell them their name.
Reply:i don't like unisex names tbh,

and your baby is soso cute :)
Reply:i think that... some unisex names are alright like ASHLEY or SAM but others like SHIRLEY bleutch!
Reply:I like them. After all, I have a unisex name... :)
Reply:Sasha - it's actually a male name in Russia
