Is Kris a unisex name?

I am from a foreign country and my nickname is Kris in my home country. I want to give people that same name as my nick name here in the US, but I am afraid I will be teased coz it sounds like a female name. Can I use Kris, as a male, and not be ridiculed at?

Is Kris a unisex name?
Yes, it is a unisex name, but it is common enough for both boys and girls that you should not be ridiculed. That's my opinion, you may run into some people that want to ridicule you but most probably will not---
Reply:yes
Reply:It could be. Where are you going?
Reply:yep, it can go either way.
Reply:yes it is a unisex name,i have a male friend,his name is kristopher,we call him khris,and i also have a female friend,kristine,we alsocallher kris..it's ok!

i have a daughter named alecx,it's a boy's name but we findit cuteto name her a guy's name..you won't be ridiculed..it's very much accepted!!
Reply:It sure is a unisex name! Maybe Chris?
Reply:yes....Chris for christopher for a male or spelled with a k

girl chris would be christy or christeen

i like the name Kris for a guy....♥
Reply:Sure, that's not a problem. That would be like Kris Kringle (our St Nicholas or Santa Claus), and is the abbreviated or "nickname" of someone named Kristopher here.
Reply:yep!
Reply:ya it is but think it spelled Chris for a boy not familiar with it being spelled with a k for a boy
Reply:why not my dear kris!

one should be proud of his own name .(at the very least)

there are ways n means to explain thesam to the people.

one can spell n pronounce his/her name n the way he feels like.

another option is tht u can tell people that ur name is 'krish' n not kris. in the great hindu mythology its the name of lord shri krishna.
Reply:It is a unisex name in the US. I don't have a problem with it either way.
Reply:You have a wonderful name!!! Stay with it as it is unusual and very becoming.
Reply:Yes, Kris is a unisex name here, but I think of men with"Kris" No one gets too up tight over the name,, I think it's a great name....
Reply:yes,it's unisex
Reply:Kris can stand for Kristopher. Kris is an awsome name. It sounds like Chris. Chris can be a guy name. So why would you be ridiculed? Only people with no social life would even bother to comment on it.
Reply:Yes, Kris for a male named Kristopher or for a female named Kristina. I have known both.**
Reply:Kris is a good name for a male.
Reply:Chris/Kris are unisex names
Reply:yes and my nephew spells it Chris . It's a good name for eather sex. good luck I see god has Blessed you.
Reply:DEAR SIR YES THEY USE SHANNON BOTH FOR BOYS AND GIRLS TO NOW SO YOU CAN USE KRIS. THEY HAVE A SINGER NAME KRIS ONE OF THE HIGHWAY MEN OF COUNTRY MUSIC AND MOVIE STAR KRIS KRISTOFFERSON

TAKE CARE AND LISTEN TO COUNTRY MUSIC ARE JUST LOOK HIM UP ONLINE OK GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Reply:It is a unisex name.
Reply:No Kris is an okey name for both male and female. There is a famous singer named Kris
Reply:do not worry at all Kris your name is just as beautiful in the US as in your country. It is actually used more often with boys than girls -

Reply:My cousins husband is Kristian, EVERYONE calls him Kris.
Reply:Yes it is. Usually Kris is for girls and Chris if for boys.....i love that name!

What do you think of tyler alexis as a girls name. we were going for a unisex name ?

I think of Tyler as more of a boy's name but i'm sure it would start to grow on people, especially with all the crazy names out there. I would keep the original spelling though because that's my boyfriend's name and we pick on him by calling him Ty-lor and he doesn't like it :)

What do you think of tyler alexis as a girls name. we were going for a unisex name ?
Lol.. My name is Tyler Alexis.. I'm male btw. Report Abuse

Reply:well, you got it. Tyler and Alexis are both unisex to me. So, upon looking that name, I'd have no clue whether it's a boy or girl (which, to me is not a good thing.)
Reply:I think its really cute and Love how you paired the more girlie but not super girlie Alexis with it, it sounds perfect! Good choice!!
Reply:tyler is a boy's name.

alexis is a girl's name.

i don't think that makes it unisex.
Reply:It isn't unisex. It is a boy's name. You can call her Hank but it doesn't make it unisex.
Reply:I didn't know Tyler was unisex. It's ok.

Taylor Alexis sound better for a girl.
Reply:I like it. You could even spell it Tylor. That's what my friend did with her little girl when she named her Skylor.
Reply:I like Taylor Alexis.
Reply:not a fan of Tyler for a girl - sorry. Alexis is a cool name though. What about Ryan as the first name?
Reply:I know a girl named Tyler! Tyler Alexis flows well and its real unique!
Reply:a nice unisex name is alex or jamie. i espesailly like sam
Reply:I wouldn't typically think of it as a girl name, but I really like it=]
Reply:Tyler is a BOY'S name.

Is Aoife a girl/guy/unisex name?

Your answer is greatly appreciated !

Is Aoife a girl/guy/unisex name?
Aoife is a female name. It is a Gaelic name and is pronounced (EE fa).

According to Irish legend, Aoife was the greast female warrior in the world. This is currently a very popular name in Ireland.
Reply:Aoife is a girls name. It's Irish.

Anyone who says Aoife is a boys/unisex name is completely wrong. There is nothing masculine or unisex about that name. Besides no name is unisex. Every name is meant for one particular gender. Not both.

It's pronounced ee-fa by the way.
Reply:My friends baby is called Aoife and she's a girl. It is pronounced Eefer. And it is an Irish name. It would seem to be a strange choice of name for a boy I reckon.
Reply:It's definitely not a unisex or boys name. It's a Top 10 baby girls name in Ireland, pronounced EE-fa (like Eva but with an "f" rather than "v" sound)
Reply:well in my opinion its just for girls

http://search.freefind.com/find.html?id=...
Reply:Neither. Nobody should be named that.
Reply:It is a girls name, pronounced Eefa
Reply:Girls name, it's Irish.
Reply:a name for a DOG....
Reply:girl.
Reply:how do u even pronounce that?

oo-ee-fe?
Reply:that's a pet's name
Reply:Male

Can Etienne be a unisex name?

I find Etienne to be feminine and wouldnt mind naming a future daughter that. What do you think?

Can Etienne be a unisex name?
All of the "Etienne's' I've ever come across were female.

It is an older, French, very beautiful name!

I pronounce it (et.te.en).

Over the generations the sex of names change. years ago 'Kelly' was a male name; I have uncles (brothers) Kenzie %26amp; Jewel. %26amp; I'm sure different languages have different sex types for the names, such as Etienne. In south Louisiana, it has been feminine for over 40 yrs that I know of.
Reply:That's not a name at all. Sounds more like a sinus medication. "With Etienne my nasal cavities are clear for hours!" Seriously, with all the great names out there, can't you find something she won't have to spell to people ten times every time she makes a dinner reservation?
Reply:It is strictly a feminine name, as the ending is 'enne' not 'en' or 'an', which would make it male. It's a nice name, but personally I would use it as a middle name.
Reply:I suppose, if you're not French. Otherwise it's the equivalent of naming your daughter Stephen.

It is pronounced "ay-TYEN" btw.
Reply:Since it is french the ending enne dictates that it is feminine.

And I really like it :]
Reply:Definitely not unisex. It's a girl name.
Reply:sounds very feminine.
Reply:yeah i think its unisex
Reply:i think its a girls name , but I usually see boys with it . I do think its pretty though
Reply:Huh?
Reply:girl name
Reply:how do you even say that name?

frangipni

What do you think of my unisex name choices??? ?

If it's a boy:

Eaden James Kirby............Kirby is our last name.

If it's a girl:

Eadyn _______ Kirby

Eadyn Noelle Kirby??

I need some middle name suggestions for a girl. Thanks a bunch! : )

What do you think of my unisex name choices??? ?
Eadyn Jane? It's not too far from James ^_^

Or Eden Lynn?
Reply:You're welcome, and thank you ^_^ Report Abuse

Reply:If it's meant to be pronounced Eden, I'd just spell it that way. Eden is a really pretty girls name. :) I'm not too fond of the trendy spelling but I like Noelle. I don't like the name as much for a boy, but Eaden does look like a more masculine spelling than Eden.
Reply:Eden James Kirby

Eden Charles Kirby

Eden Thomas Kirby

Eden Alasdair Kirby

Eden William Kirby

Eden Liam Kiby

Eden Rhys Kirby
Reply:that spelling is horrid it loks like eden i am hoping you are trying to get Aiden fur a unisex name as this definatly says eden to me I sure hope you change it or your boy will be called Eden
Reply:Eadyn Jaqueline Kirby.
Reply:You got a funny last name!

Thomas Dean Kirby

Ariel Shanice Kirby
